Caribbean Rose Team Members

Mary Elizabeth Kopko (President and Director) is a resident of St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. Mrs. Kopko graduated from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana in 1980 with a BA in Sociology and Government with high honors. She graduated from the Loyola University of Chicago Law with a JD and was a member of the law review.  Mrs. Kopko is admitted to practice in Illinois, the Seventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a partner in McBreen and Kopko, specializing in Social Security Disability and general appellate work.  Before joining McBreen and Kopko, she was a senior attorney at the Legal Assistance Foundation.  She was a panel member of the Illinois Death Penalty Task Force, representing death row inmates in their capital post-conviction appeals.  She is the past president of the St. Thomas the Apostle School Board, Chicago, IL, past president of Hyde Park-Kenwood Legends Baseball, past president of United Legal Workers, UAW; a member of Hyde Park AYSO Board of Directors, former Athletic Commissioner, St. Thomas the Apostle School, Chicago, IL  assistant coach, Chicago Jaguars AAU basketball, Mrs. Kopko was a founding member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Endowment Committee. Mrs. Kopko is currently tournament director of the Annual Virgin Island Billfish Tournament for Haiti and President of the Virgin Island Jaguars Small Fry Basketball Franchise.

Captain Eddie Morrison (Director)  is a USCG licensed Charter Boat Captain in the United States Virgin Islands. He has been recognized by his cohorts with numerous awards, such as the Billfish Foundation's Top Atlantic Blue Marlin Release award in 1999 & 2006. He was awarded the Atlantic Blue Marlin (Boy Scout) Tournament as Captain of the Year in 2010 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was also a founding instructor for Marlin Magazine's "Marlin University" held in St. Thomas for many years. He is currently the captain of the Marlin Prince and an employee of Neltjeberg Bay Enterprises. Captain Morrison was instrumental in creating the Caribbean Rose MVP Program in conjunction with Ivanna Eudora Kean High School.

​Jazmine Grell (Secretary) currently works for Neltjeberg Bay Enterprises as the Managing Office Administrator.  Ms. Grell has over seven years of experience in account management, claims and sales processing, and call center operations within the banking, travel, and insurance industries.  Education: Ashworth College, Associates in General Business.

George Matthew (Director) was born in the Island of Antigua and moved to St. Thomas in 1980. His family has been active on the island since, notably, his sister owns and operates the renowned Gladys' Restaurant in Charlotte Amalie. Mr. Matthew has spent years working in the marine industry and is currently a management assistant at Neltjeberg Bay Enterprises. He takes an active role in supporting the VI Jaguars Basketball Team.

Catherine M. Kopko is a Director of Charitable work at Neltjeberg Bay Enterprises where she has assisted in the preparation of its business plan. Ms. Kopko graduated in 2012 from St. Joseph's College, Rensselaer, Indiana with a B.S. in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Sociology. She was also a member of the St. Joseph College Women's Varsity Basketball Team and has volunteered at numerous basketball camps for children throughout the United States. Ms. Kopko also assists with the organization and management of the Annual Virgin Island Billfish Tournament for Haiti.

Ms. Kopko attended the University of Chicago Graham School of Graduate Studies and graduated from the DePaul University Graduate program in paralegal studies.  She is currently a Social Security Disability Representative at the firm of McBreen and Kopko where she represents Social Security disability claimants in all stages of the administrative process.

Thomas Kopko assists with portfolio client projects and proposals.  Mr. Kopko is an attorney with extensive experience in negotiating and preparing investment products, having worked with venture capital funds, private equity funds, hedge funds, mutual funds, family offices, sovereign funds, high-net-worth individuals, and various other institutional- and individual investor bases.  Mr. Kopko currently sits on the Board of Directors at St. Laurence High School, his alma mater located in Burbank, Illinois. 

Bar Admission: State of Illinois.  Licenses/Certifications: Series 3 (National Commodities Futures).  Education: Cornell Law School, J.D., cum laude, Editor, Cornell International Law Journal, Myron Taylor Scholar; University of Notre Dame, B.A., Sociology and Computer Applications, Alpha Kappa Delta, 4-Year Monogram (Men's Basketball).

Romeo R. Richardson is responsible for the development,  maintenance, and improvement of the Caribbean Rose website and other sites associated with Caribbean Rose. He is also the Social Media Director at Caribbean Rose. He is also the Network and Website administrator for Neltjeberg Bay Enterprises. He has previously worked as an IT Specialist for the University of the Virgin Islands. He also worked as a System  Analyst for the Department of Education. Education: University of the  Virgin Islands, B.A., Computer Science.
