V.I. Jaguars Basketball Team

January 2024 - The V.I. Jaguars Basketball Team made the difficult decision to leave the Small Fry International Basketball League. The V.I. Jaguars Basketball Team is now a part of the Small Ball United Basketball League. Small Ball United exists to produce competitive young men & women of character. Small Ball Basketball is built on 4 Key Pillars:  Instill in our players the fundamental basketball & life skills essential to succeed, Provide unmatched experiences based on equality, sportsmanship, and competition, Teach the critical importance of character development cultural inclusivity, and Fundraising, player initiatives & corporate sponsors, enable full participation for all.   

All team and player expenses, which include travel expenses, league fees, uniforms, and equipment, are fully sponsored. Each year the Jaguars travel to Puerto Rico, St. Croix, and Florida to compete against other Small Ball United Basketball teams.

January 2014 - December 2023 - Founded in 1968, Small Fry Basketball provides an opportunity for shorter boys and girls to excel in the sport of basketball, travel, and have fun. The program is developmental, yet extremely competitive, with an opportunity to meet new friends and compete on the international level. The Association consists of teams from all over the United States and the Caribbean. The competition culminates with the International and Friendship Championship Tournaments held at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando Florida. 

The Jaguars, which comprises of 12 - 15 players, participate in the International Small Fry Basketball Association. Small Fry competition is for players no taller than 5-foot-1 and young people who have not attained the age of 12 before September 1 of the calendar year proceeding tournament play. A smaller basketball is used in Small Fry games and the rims are 8 feet, 6 inches tall. Jaguars are sponsored by Caribbean Rose, in cooperation with Neltjeberg Bay Enterprises.
